GRAMMAR PRACTICE – PRESENT CONTINUOUS VS PRESENT SIMPLE

As we discussed in Session 3, the present Simple or simple present is used to express a permanent situation that takes place once, never or several times, to state facts or general truths and to talk about future plans.

When constructing a sentence using present simple it is important to understand the use of –(e)s when involving the personal pronouns (he, she and it), That is, the third person singular. Let’s look at some present simple sentences:

Present Simple

Heworks
Sheworks
Itworks
Wework
Youwork
Theywork

To Feel

Should the verb end in –s, -sh or –ch, we add –es to the end:

To Do

When a verb ends in –y, the –y is replaced by –ies.

Westudy
